What is it?

First of all, what is Plus email addressing?

Plus email addressing is also known as sub-addressing and can be used as some kind of label on your mail address.

Examples

Useful examples where you can use the Plus addressing are

  • When you're signing up for a newsletter or create an account.
  • Use it as a disposable address, if there is no use anymore for the address simply block de Plus address.

How to use it

To use this feature simply add a + sign and the name of the Label after your account name and before the @ symbol of the domain name.

e.g., [email protected]

So, in this example Spam will be the Plus Label for [email protected].

Does this only work with Outlook.com?

No, this Plus feature will work on most known email servers like Gmail, Outlook.com, Office365 and many more.

Even on your work mail this feature is enabled by default, if it doesn't work then the IT department has disabled this feature.
